Lactate Threshold Test (Treadmill)
The Lactate Threshold assessment is the essential physiological test to provide guidance to your training and performance. By measuring how your body responds to increasing intensity, Elevate removes the guesswork from your training, allowing you to train with absolute precision.
What to Expect During Your Assessment
During this session, you will complete multiple stages on your bike using a Wahoo at incrementally increasing power but can be completed on a fixed cycle ergometer if preferred. At the end of each stage, a small, sterile blood pinprick sample is taken from your earlobe or finger to measure lactate accumulation.
The protocol progresses through your lactate threshold (LT1 /aerobic threshold) and lactate turnpoint (LT2 /anaerobic threshold), concluding when you surpass your LT2. This process allows for the understanding of your physiological profile across power, and individualising your physiological intensity training zones.
What This Assessment Gives You
This assessment provides a complete blueprint of your current fitness and your future potential. Your results include:
- Full Lactate and Heart Rate Profile: Pinpoint exactly how your body reacts to different intensities.
- Precision Training Zones: Get definitive, lactate anchored pace zones based on your unique physiological responses, not generic estimates.
- Expert Training Guidance: Personalised recommendations on how to use these results to adjust your current training volume and intensity.
Personalised Reporting and Scientific Strategy
Following your session at Hustle Wymondham, you will receive an individualised summary report within 48 hours. Every report is bespoke, based on your specific physiological responses and your primary performance goals.
Before and after the test, we will have a brief discussion to ensure your results are contextualised for your sport and based on your information that is relevant and important to you, with opportunity to discuss your report after you have digested the information.
